Total Trip Cost is used to calculate the amount of trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage covered under your policy. This is the amount that will be payable in the event your trip is cancelled or interrupted. So it is important you insure the full amount of your prepaid and non-refundable travel arrangements (flight, cruise ground, or lodging accommodations, etc.). Non-prepaid and refundable items are not covered.

As a reminder, if you do not require trip cancellation or interruption coverage, please go back and enter 0 for trip cost. This will remove the cancellation and interruption benefits from your policy. This is useful if you are sure you will not cancel, or if you are buying insurance for medical coverage only, or to obtain a visa.
