Medical Evacuation Coverage (per trip) Insurance

Medical Evacuation Coverage (per trip)

Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation insurance can save you from high medical bills if you become seriously injured or ill during your trip. Medical transportation can be substantial, costing upwards of $50,000 depending on the circumstances. Imagine you are on a hiking or rock climbing expedition and accident or injury strikes requiring the need of a helicopter or air ambulance for transport to the nearest hospital or medical facility. Purchasing medical evacuation coverage can help pay for these costs and any medically necessary expenses.

Most health plans provide little protection against these types of expenses, leaving you to pay the costs. International travelers may have no coverage for medical evacuation and repatriation outside their home country. It is recommended you always travel with some type of travel medical insurance to prevent such situations. Some plans also cover emergency union, which pays the costs to have a family member accompany you to the hospital.

Emergency Medical Evacuation plans also cover the costs of preparing and returning your mortal remains back home in case of death.  The medical evacuation only plans include unlimited benefits just for emergency evacuation and repatriation. If you are looking additional medical coverage, please see our travel medical plans.
