Schengen Visa Insurance (Per trip)
Schengen visa insurance is designed to meet the requirements of the Schengen visa which allows Non-U.S. citizens to travel to the 15 Schengen member countries in Europe. With the Schengen visa travelers can travel freely throughout the Schengen zone, this means fewer stops and checks between borders. The Schengen visa allows visitors to stay up to 90 days within a six month period for tourist of business purposes.
Non-U.S. citizens are required to obtain a minimum amount of medical coverage before visiting any of the Schengen countries.
Schengen visa insurance requirements are:
- Emergency Medical Coverage of at least US $37,500
- The insurance company must have a representative office in Europe
- Insurance must be valid for the duration of stay in the Schengen countries
The lists of Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
If you intend to visit several Schengen countries during your trip, you must apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the country which is your main destination. If you intend to visit several Schengen countries but do not have a main destination, you should apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the country which is your first point of entry.
Once you purchase the Schengen visa insurance you will get an email confirmation directly from the insurance company that contains the declaration of coverage along with a travel visa letter to present as proof to the consulate at the time of the visa application.
